Activation question...........Had to reinstall several times...

One thing I have heard is that you can activate your key online so many times, but if you activate it more than the allotted times you will have to call unless you wait 120 days before trying activation again. I like to reinstall Windows every 2 or 3 months so this doesn't work for me. What I do is activate it by phone and install the basic apps that I use every day and customize and tweak Windows to my liking and make a backup. This way the activation is already complete when you reinstall and you don't have to mess around with installing all your software. I also create backup images every few weeks to make sure I always have a recent copy on hand so if anything goes wrong I can just go back to a previous image and everything is good to go. If you call and activate, leave the OS on for at least 120 days before trying to activate online again or make a backup so the key and activation is already installed.

Why would anyone need to reinstall windows so often?
There was a myth that this was good but its a myth I have never seen a Good reason to do so

I do it cus I screw up my Windows installs constantly and due to the fact that I am always tryin out linux distros.

This may have been true back in the Win 95 days but not now.

I think it's just personal Preference. I have a habit of reinstalling 7 so many times. I always have done this. Did it once or twice with XP. And for Vista many times.
