Opinion Topic: Antivirus, YES or NO

I use something way more advanced than antivirus. Its GesWall. GesWall is a Host Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS).
What is does is it lists anything accesing the internet as an untrusted source. If something malicious were to have been downloaded, it wouldn't be able to do anything because it was dowloaded from an untrusted webrowser. So basically nothing can get through. It is way better and far more superior than any antivirus software.

I'd never heard of it until this thread.

Having had a look at the website, it is NOT a replacement for antivirus software, more a supplement very much like Comodo Boclean.

The reason I was saying it is not a replacemement was based on the following text from their website

Avira also AVG I hate Nortons, you have to pay for it for one, and two its a resource hog and takes over your computer, too much security for me to be honest.

AVG always saved me in the past. (BTW I turn off all automatic crap I hate it! It always updates and wants to turn off my computer when I do not want so I do manual everything! LOL)
